Quick-start guide
Get up and running in about 30 minutes. This is the fast path; each step links to the full chapter for detail.
Who this is for: the business owner setting up for the first time. You'll be the Owner (full access).
Step 1, Create your business (5 min)
- Go to the HappierBiz home page → Start free trial.
- Enter your business name (and adjust the web address it suggests).
- Enter your email and a password, this is your Owner account.
- Pick your business type (café, salon, gym, clinic, trades, venue…). → Getting started
No credit card needed, your free trial starts now.
Step 2, Make it yours (5 min)
- Go to Settings → General.
- Add your logo and brand colours.
- Check the wording (what you call a booking and the people in it).
- Confirm your opening hours, timezone, and (if you bill) ABN/GST. → Administrator guide
Step 3, Turn on the tools you need (3 min)
- Settings → Modules.
- Switch on only the modules you'll use. Your business type pre-selected sensible ones, add or remove freely.

Step 4, Set up what customers can book (5 min)
- Bookings → Services → Add.
- Pick the type (appointment, class, group, event, rental).
- Set the price, duration, capacity, and a deposit if you take one.
- Add what it uses (a staff member, a room) in Bookings, under Staff, spaces & equipment.
- Mark it Live. → Bookings
Step 5, Get paid (5 min)
- Open Finance → Money owed. If you already use Stripe, choose connect my existing account and sign in; otherwise choose set up card payments and complete Stripe onboarding (so payouts go to your bank). Enter bank/ID details on Stripe's pages only.
- If you invoice, add your business/tax details in Settings and try Invoicing. → Payments · Invoicing
Step 6, Add your team (3 min)
- Team → Staff list → add staff and set each person's role.
- Adjust what each role can do in Roles & permissions if needed. → User roles & permissions
Step 7, Take your first booking (2 min)
- Open Bookings → Bookings and choose New booking (or share your public booking page link).
- Watch it appear on the Dashboard and Calendar. → Calendar
Day-one checklist
The dashboard's "Finish setting up" card tracks these automatically:
- Logo & brand colours added
- Team invited (skip if you're a solo operator)
- At least one experience set up and Live
- Opening hours set
- Payments connected (if taking deposits)
- Business & tax details added (if invoicing)
- Safety & cleaning checks set up (if using safety)
- First booking taken
